You can use the Units view Actions
Extract Events option to extract the billable events, recorded for the selected units, manually.
For example, consider a scenario where re-weighing a container is defined as a billable event. Perform the following steps:
Re-weigh the container, ABCU1234567.
Change the outbound carrier for ABCU1234567 (this is a non-billable event).
Re-weigh ABCU1234567.
If you extract the billable events twice, once after step 1 and then after step 3, N4 adds two rows to the Chargeable Unit Events view. In this case, the first extract shows the original outbound carrier, and the second extract shows the updated value of the outbound carrier.
If you extract the billable events for ABCU1234567 after step 3, N4 adds two rows to the Chargeable Unit Events view for the two re-weighing events; however, in this case, both the rows display the new outbound carrier for the container.
To manually extract the billable events for the selected units:
In the Operations Unit
Units
Units view, select the units for which you want to extract the billable events.
You can also create a filter to display the units you want to include in the billing extract and select the resulting rows. For example, you can create a filter to display the reefer units operated by LineA that are in the yard.
Click Actions and select the Transactions Extract Events option.
N4 displays a progress bar indicating the status of the extract.
After the extract is complete, in the Chargeable Unit Events view (on page 1), click to see the extracted events.
All the extracted chargeable unit events are assigned the Status QUEUED.
N4 assigns a batch number to each extract. N4 also associated the batch number with the extracted event to indicate that it has already extracted the event. N4 will not extract this event the next time it selects the associated unit for the extract.
If N4 cannot extract an event, it assigns a negative value of the batch number to that event. This prevents the extract to select the event repeatedly. You can use the All Events view to view the events with a negative batch number.
